Smeden

from Bylur by Krauka

/

about

The smell of coal smoke fills the room. The glowing steel seethes

in the bubbling water. The hammer rings against the glowing iron.

layer upon layer the blade is forged. From the cliffs the precious

ore is won. From all around it’s transported from Miklagård to Vinland.

lyrics

jern - ild - vand

jern - ild - vand

ud af klipperne brydes den kostbare malm

den gløder i ovnen til tunge barer

overalt fragtes den, fra Miklagård til Vinland

og forarbejdes af smede til ædelt gods

about

Krauka Aarhus, Denmark

This is some hard-edged, macho, Viking stuff. Using implements of destruction and pillage ranging from hide drums to shawms to jew’s harps to chainsaws and axes, this Nordic quintet hacks into the Scandinavian permafrost.
