Tre viser

from Stiklur by Krauka

/

about

Two small songs whose only obvious connection is that they share a common tune.

1. The trolls sit by the fire and make soup out of horse flesh. They make an awful noise whilst they eat.

2. If the month of “thori” is dry and the month of “goa” is quiet and the next month is wet, then it will be a good spring.

Leadvocal – Gaua, lyre – Jens, production – Thorkell, mix & mastering – Henrik.

lyrics

Við eldinn sátu töfratröll

Tekin voru að sjóða

Menguð átu merafjöll

Með ólátum höfðu sköll.

Þurr skyldi þorri

Þeysöm góa

Votur einmánuður

Þá mun vel vora.

Text: trad. – music: Krauka (Language: Icelandic)

about

Krauka Aarhus, Denmark

This is some hard-edged, macho, Viking stuff. Using implements of destruction and pillage ranging from hide drums to shawms to jew’s harps to chainsaws and axes, this Nordic quintet hacks into the Scandinavian permafrost.
